I wish I could say there was some spectacular reason for wanting to add this to the list, or even some way to reason for it’s spot on the list. To be completely honest with you, it’s just one of those things that I’ve always wanted to be able to do. I imagine it’d make for some great nights with friends some time in the future (and when my friends also learn how to play poker haha!)
We spent the last few days in Melbourne with some family and so with a few martinis and face masks, I was taught how to play poker. I’ve got to admit that I’m not very good, at the rules are still very much lost on me. I think that I understand it, but not enough to play with real money. I did do a crazy “all-in” and managed to quadruple my money which helped me last a few more rounds, but did end up losing it all in a reckless “don’t-look-at-your-cards-to-see-how-lucky-you-really-are” round. I think this’ll be one of those things that I’ll have to practise for a bit before I can manage to play with more people. As long as I have my cheat sheet, I think I’ll be good!
